The race to crown the 2016 Quest Industrial Mid-American Stock Car Series champion with come to an end this Saturday night at LaCrosse Fairgrounds Speedway. Running as part of the 47th annual Oktoberfest Race Weekend, the Mid-American Series will compete in a 40 lap feature event which will help determine its champion.
ROCKFORD, IL (Sunday, October 2, 2016) The Quest Industrial Mid-American Stock Car Series made its second visit to the historic Rockford Speedway in the 2016 season as part of the 51st annual National Short Track Championships. When the dust settled, Ron Vandemeier Jr stood tall in victory lane after crossing the stripe first to claim the Gary Vercauteren Memorial 50 lap feature event. It marked the first win for the pilot from Joliet, IL.
The Marshfield Motor Speedway and Mid-American Stock Car Series officials made the joint decision today to cancel the race scheduled for Saturday, September 10. Due to rain outs and the need to reschedule events at Marshfield Motor Speedway, the schedule was too tight to fit the Mid-American Stock Car Series in to this Saturday's program. The Mid-American Series drivers are still welcome to attend Marshfield Motor Speedway this Saturday to run in conjunction with their weekly Sportsman division. As a result of this cancellation, the next event on the MASCS schedule will be at Rockford Speedway on Sunday, Oct 2, for the Short Track Championships. The final race on the schedule will be Saturday, October 8, at LaCrosse Speedway for Oktoberfest.
